The Glasshouse Mountains Riding School is nestled near the foothills
of the scenic Glasshouse Mountains, and 10 minutes from Australia Zoo.
We offer quality horse riding instruction on a weekly basis or casual lessons
and trail rides if you just want to have a bit of fun.

In the riding school the children just dont learn how to ride, they will have hands on experience and learn safety around horses, horsemanship, sporting (games on horseback), (which is great for confidence and balance, and fun), flatwork (how to ride), jumping, and we also go out and have a trail ride once a monthly as part of our lesson plan. The riders will have to untack and rug up their horses if the horse is finished with for the night.
Riding Lessons:
- We teach flat work, jumping and sporting.
- Group sessions $40 per hour.
- Private Lessons $40 per half hour or $70 for one hour.
- We can supply helmet and boots but if you are planning regular lessons it is best to purchase your own.
-
Bring refreshments as there is no canteen available.

The Instructor
Our onsite riding instructor is Belinda Short.
Belinda has been involved with horses most of her life, competing in One Day Events (Dressage, show jumping and cross country) and gymkhanas for the last 10 years.
She has been with the Pony Club for 5 years as their Chief Instructor, and is a Level C Pony Club Instructor and is also trained as a showjumping course builder and jumping judge.
Belinda is currently under taking her NCAS EFA Level 1 Coaching qualifications.
Glasshouse Mountains Riding School has been hosting a Pedestrian Equestian Programme run through the Glasshouse Country Christian College.
Pedestrian Equestrian is a Pony Club program that allows children without horses to experience the many aspects of owning a horse. Children learn to groom, saddle, lead, feed and clean horses. Belinda conducts similar workshops during the school holiday period. For more information please see the 'Workshops' page.
