BELINDA SHORT

Our onsite owner and riding instructor is Belinda Short.

Belinda and her husband Phil purchased the Yeates Rd propertyin 2006, after recognising a need for a somewhere, where children could come to ride horses and learn in a safe environment. The Glasshouse Mountains Riding School was established and although began with only a few riders it has quickly grown in stature drawing riders from the local and wider communities.

Belinda certainly goes the extra mile for her students, offering continuing support and guidance to all of her students. The school has a very friendly atmosphere and does their best to accommodate everyone. Glasshouse Mountains Riding School has a range of horses and ponies catering for the beginner riders through to those who are wanting to be compete in any of the given pony club disciplines – show-jumping, dressage, sporting and cross-country.

Belinda has watched many of her riders develop over the years and is now enjoying their success with them as they begin to compete at higher levels – some riding to qualify and represent QLD.

Belinda has been involved with horses most of her life, competing in One Day Events, dressage, show-jumping and gymkhana's for the last 10 years. She enjoys nothing more than taking her horse to the beach.

Belinda has been the Chief Instructor at Glasshouse Pony Club for the last 13 years, and is a Qualified Level B Pony Club Instructor and Level 1 NCAS Level 1 Coach. She also hold her EA Level 1 General Coaching qualitifactions.

She is also a Show-jumping/sporting judge and SJ course builder.

 MICHAEL SHORT

Michael has been part of the riding school from the beginning, he was a member of Glasshouse Pony Club

for many years, where his passion for showjumping developed. he won QLD State Champion Showjumper at 15yrs, then travelling to NSW to be part of the QLD team. He left school and worked at Billy Raymonts stables, travelling on the showjumping circuits with a team of 15 horses.  He  has worked with David Finch and Merrick UBank.

Michael abition is to develop Belle Phhynn Park Equestrian-Training and Breeding Center, which is where the riding school resides. Michael enjoys passing on his knowledge and experience to student the the Glasshouse Mountains Riding School.

LAURA

Laura has recently relocated from NSW to the Sunshine Coast. Laura has grown up with horses and has always had a keen interest in eventing and dressage, and in particular - training ex racehorses to become performance horses.

Laura has worked as a high school teacher for 5 years, however her true passion is coaching riders. Laura's teaching skills are directly transferable when it comes to coaching dressage to students, including beginners from all ages. Laura's uses kind, encouraging and supportive approach to help clearly explain what is expected from the rider. She also thoroughly enjoys guiding students to find the true connection and harmony between horse and rider. She is excited to join the Glasshouse team
